Internship Program Admissions

Briefly describe in narrative form important information to assist potential applicants in assessing their likely fit with your program. This description must be consistent with the program’s policies on intern selection and practicum and academic preparation requirements:
Our training helps interns become prepared as a well-rounded generalist for careers in university counseling centers or similar settings. We have eight major training areas: individual therapy, group therapy, assessment, outreach/consultation, supervision, diversity, ethics, and professional development.

Describe any other required minimum criteria used to screen applicants:

1) A minimum of 450 intervention hours must include at least 150 hours for individual therapy with adults by the application deadline.

2) Comprehensive exams passed by the application deadline.

3) Dissertation proposal by the start of internship.

4) An ability to pass a criminal background check.
